- Avoid hard acceleration. Instead of braking or accelerating aggressively, try to coast as much as possible – this can increase your fuel mileage by as much as 30 percent!

- Perform regular vehicle maintenance: check your air filter, align your tires, and make sure your gas cap is tightly closed (otherwise gas will evaporate), and maintain proper air pressure in your tires
